Default Finally, 7.89 @ 175 mph!

Today we went to the Midwest Chassis track rental at Cordova Dragway Park in Illinois to mess around and see what we could do with some good track conditions and great weather. It was basically a day that I wanted to use to play around with the tuneup, and change a few things. Needless to say my changes worked, and it resulted in several 7 second passes, and new bests in the 1/8 too. Its still a little lazy in the 60' as we were were still creeping up on the starting line timing with the new changes...

Heres the data:

60' - 1.26
1/8 ET - 5.10
1/8 MPH - 140.2
1/4 ET - 7.89
1/4 MPH - 175.2

This was all done at a 3290 lb race weight, on the Hoosier 275 Radial.

I'm very happy to end the year on a good note....now its time for a 300 lb diet this winter

.

That is awesome.
We were going to attend, and ended up at Byron.
If you had the same wind we had, you must have had your hands full.
That is definitely some nice pass' on that tire!!!

I was going from memory on the original post with the numbers, but here is the actual time slip. The other picture is one of the launch from the track photographer. I haven't got the digital image yet, so this has to do.

That's a radial??? That looks like a bias ply slick to me. Am I confused on Hoosiers tires? I know they have two different DOT versions. One is a bias ply and one is true radial.

Yes, that is a Hoosier 275/60/15 DOT Street legal radial. And that tire has A LOT more pressure in it than you might think and it still wrinkles like that. There is NOT 2 versions of the Hoosier Drag Radials. They have a Quick time pro tire which is a slick, and the DOT Drag radials which are a radial, with radial construction. I've mounted 3 sets on my car, so yes I know what I have.

Looks like it needs 1/2lb more air to me.

Or take 200lbs out of the car and it wont kill the tire so much. LOL !

Thats why the car will be visiting a chassis shop soon for a new cage, doors, some weight removal, and new headers
