What else is already done to the car? Do you want to do headers or a stall if auto before the tune?

Pin the crank,Injectors, Fuel Pump,Clutch(maybe),Flip Drive Kit, and make sure you have it street tuned as well as dyno tuned.

Chris
the A&A kit comes with
-pinning kit
-injectors
-boost-a-pump
-all brackets and belts required

I'll replace the clutch when it dies.

There is only one place where I live that does tuning. I had them do a dyno tune on my other car. What do they do for a street tune? 1/4 mile?

A street tune consist of actually tuning the VE Tables and Maf tables along while logging with a WB02. Not just WOT on a dyno.

I'm going to have the local tuning shop quote turn key just to see how much more it costs. How much is a fair price for turn-key? $9000?

Thats about right. Id pull the front timing cover, and loctite the front cam gear bolts. On stock LSx cars, they will come loose.

The local speed shop quoted about $8600 for turn key. They quoted with an AEM meth kit rather than a Devil's'Own (either one is fine with me).

They told me I don't need Meth/Water for 10psi of boost (see below).

"I HIGHLY recommend eliminating the water/meth system. It is not necessary to achieve 10lbs of boost safely and we have done many Spercharger and Turbo installs with excellent results."

My other car is running about 15psi of boost and I have a terrible time keeping the IAT2 low in the summer time.

What do you think about not using a Meth/Water kit? The extra cost doesn't seem like much to me if it makes a big difference to the IAT2.

When running methanol with boost, I recommend using 100% methanol. The water in a mix tends to put the flame out under boost. Inlet air temps typically drop 35 to 40 degrees when the meth kicks in, I can't see any reason not to use it at 10 psi. I wouldn't throw extra timing into the tune because of the meth, you can but if the meth quits it can cause expensive engine problems. Bob

FYI: The NGK TR6 pn# 4177 plugs should only cost you $2 something a piece. Bob

mike norris tuned my car all on the dyno, he did the VE tables all on the dyno.... my BOV was causing problems with my MAF, so he unplugged it and tuned around it until i could relocate the BOV, and my car drives great... so...

Plan to spend more than $400 for a forced induction tune... most ive seen are around $5-$700

2-bar map sensor - $60-$90 part number: 12615136 from GM

how about gauges? wideband, fuel pressure, boost/vacuum? $350-500

x2 on meth, if you can afford it, its ALWAYS a nice safety feature.
