retired another 2v
Some boring history:
There is this guy comes through my work every now and then (I work at a gas station) with a "worked" 03 gt. Idk about you guys but my definition of worked is at least heads/cam well his is "some suspension work Lts, 3" duals, intake, tb, and a port/polish job on the heads". So any way this guy loves to talk about his mustang and Ill give him credit it looks and sounds pretty good other than the massive 4.6 High Output badges. He comes through my work and I ask him if he thinks he could hold with my t/a. His response, "idk what your trans am has/is" I pointed over to my car said lt's ory, catback, and lid. He says, "i think i would put a few lengths on you." I chuckled and told him when I get off work, he says "I have better things to do."
Now the good stuff.
I get onto the highway heading home from work and as fate would have it there he was. I pull up next to him and downshift as does he. (that thing was ******* loud). We were doing about 40-45 great spot for my second gear. He takes the hit as i was in 4th rolling next to him. He dropped it and went and stupid me dropped it into 3rd rather than 2nd, but it didnt matter, I immediately stopped his pull and grabbed fourth id say I had about 5 or 6 on him at 120.
Havent seen him at my work since

3.42s* and a 40 roll in 2nd is not a very good roll for you with those gears, you're much better off around a 50 in 2nd or go a little lower like a 30-35 in first. Just a word of advice so you can whoop on some more mustangs

True^^50 roll 2nd gear is perfect for 3.42s,i still do 50 rolls in 2nd after switching to 3.73s from 3.42s.Also good job putting guy in his place!"worked"2v lol!

With my 3.73's, 27 inch tires, and shifting at 6500 rpm I could just barely start in first gear at 40 mph, but the shift came so fast that I don't think it helped (vs a 2nd gear start). I would imagine that the same setup, but having stock 3.42's instead, would make for a killer 1st gear start at 40 mph.
