86 iroc-z vs trans am
high my name is dewaun and im new to the thread i have a 86 iroc-z28 with a new rebuilt 355 not even 50 miles on it yet it has vortec heads #906s, rpm airgap intake, lunati voodoo 00012 and 650 hollew, with flowtech headers,and flowmaster exhaust,built th350 stock 3:42 gear and b&m shifter.....just wondering i got a challenge from my brothers 99 trans am with just borla system....

http://youtu.be/h_V0qTz0-ycwell the guy who sold me the car said it was a 70s block 0010, 10.5:1 compression and the cam at 515 lift is healthy heads are not stock they were machined to work with cam, i dont kno about the pistons but he said that i couldnt find anything in the block stock........he told me it should push me into the low 12s high 11s on a good day im not sure just what i was told....oh and its a posi 3:42 gear

well, that changes things...lol. i had a comparable setup with a stroker motor in a 70 camaro and that thing would scream. so, i retract my previous statement...Do it! and video it.

Looks and sounds pretty healthy after watching that vid. If you can drive good, I wouldn't worry one bit about losing to that LS1 trans am. Go race him and post up a vid so we can get some rep for the 3rd gens!
