Default Need Cam Spec? Help Mamo

Below are my numbers/mods on my car. Tony Mamo told me he could custom spec me out a new cam that will work better with my setup but can you tell me how much more horsepower is to gain with a custom grind cam? Hopefully Tony Mamo will see this thread and respond but any opinion is welcome. Also, I am still running stock lifters. Will aftermarket Yella Terra or Harland Sharp make any HP difference or help my motor?

The key to really being able to select the right cam lies not only in the right specs for the overall application (engine and type of vehicle usage), but also in knowing exactly how effective the cylinder heads are, what they flow, and more important than peak in some respects, what they flow down low which should effect your decision concerning LSA and installed position.

Obviously that gives me a leg up on how to grind a custom cam, especially concerning an AFR cylinder head.

Just some input I thought was worth sharing....

Between Yella Terra and Harland I would go with the Yella Terra's. They will help with valve guide life and will provide much better geometry. Make sure you set geometry first and then measure for pushrod length. There will be minimal hp gain, the gain is in a proper geometry.

470 rwhp and 415 rwtq are pretty impressive.

I would like to see your dyno numbers after swapping the cam.

Tony, How do I find out all this info you need to know? Does AFR Flow Test all heads before they ship? Please help. If this will gain me more than 10-15hp, I would like to do it.

anything in the upper 23x/lower 24x on a tighter LSA will give a decent gain over the current cam you have now...

Look at all the bigger cams out there and you will see most specs are in this range...

ms3, ms4, polluter, si6 or si7, raptor, vindicator, etc...

or even a custom like i have 239/243 111+4 lsl/lsl .624/.624 basically hybrid ms4ish cam
