Title says it all. Did 2x laps. What a blast! Way more fun (and intense) than drag racing. I took it easy being my 1st time out, but still managed to complete the 13mile circuit in under 12 minutes. :)

Yes that track is very addictive. I have got a couple of laps under my from there. I have been going there off and on since 1985. Haven't been back to the track in a couple of years though.

I wish I had video. They banned cameras on the track this year because there were too many accidents. :(

Did you track experience uncover some problem area's for your car? What will be the next round of mods or suggested changes you will address as a result of your experience? What is your current setup just for reference?

That's awesome! I've always wanted to run that track. What part of VA are you from?

The trans was overheating on the 2nd run. A cooler or different fluid will probably be the next change. Everything else was working surprisingly well together. Here's the current applicable mods:

UMI chassis mounted torque arm ( adjustable).
UMI strut brace.
UMI subframes (X-brace design).
UMI adjustable LCAs.
UMI adjustable pan hard rod.
BMR LCA relocation brackets.
Baer Eradispeed rotors/Hawk HPS pads/ Earls stainless lines.
Goodyear Eagle F1 super car tires on 17x9 ZO6 wheels.
Moser 9" with 4.11s and a Detroit Locker Tru-Track.
Engine mods ( head/cam, etc.)

The springs/shocks are stock. Car remains flat in corners and the grip from the tires is excellent, so haven't changed them yet. The sway bars are also
stock.

For Golf&GM I'm from Williamsburg VA.

Im very jealous. Yeah I would recommend 35mm Solid Swaybar and Poly A-Arm bushing kit. Makes a Very big difference. Stock Shocks are bad compared to some nice adjustables.

Got a question for you if you don't mind me asking...

Did you go to the main building for entry or did you go to the other entry?

I went there this last summer however I went with my G35 instead and couldn't figure out where to go in and where to pay?

This is like saying

"HEY GUYS! I just had sex for the first time and it was with Jenna Jameson!!"

As many "first times" I've had at tracks over the years, you'd have to roll all those into one to even get close to your experience.

I mean this in the best way possible but, you sir, are an asshole.

Not sure if that is a compliment or an insult....?... :engarde: Either way, it was my 1st road course. Sorry.

For Bene, the entrance isn't at the big "terminal" where all the shops/ stores are. It's about 2km north. You pay for the Ring at a little shack next to the track and receive a plastic credit card. You then swipe the card at the entrance to the track and the gate opens. Simple as that. :)

BTW, guess there was a pic of my car at the track. A guy from the F-body Europe site led me to it.

Don't put a solid sway bar in put a strano hollow bar. There is none better or lighter. I agree with the shock comment too. Koni yellow are way better then stock. Add strano springs and you have your self a mighty fine weekend warrior track car there.

Compliment dude. You've done what many guys that track their cars would love to do. And with it comes a lot of respect from even very experienced racers.

If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost to get in and run your car?

Lucky guy. Bilstein adjustable inserts set up for your car all around.
Find some shop that does them & know how to set them for your cars 4 corners...on a normal track that you might use you could possibly run 2 sec quicker.

Yes, I'm planning to get some Strano springs/shocks this summer. One reason for keeping the stock ones is that there is a "minimum ride height" in Germany, and they do measure it on inspection. But, I'll be moving back to the USA in May. I'm excited to hit some road track events when I return.

Just read this for the 1st time in a while. Yep, it was a compliment. I appreciate that. Thanks :)

Awesome amigo! I am totally jealous. Well was the track very busy?

Just out of curiosity, did you try the track on GT5 before the real thing?

Yes and yes. I tried it on GT5 but it was minimal help. I actually understood it better on GT5 after running the real deal.

It was also very crowded. Basically one car after another. Lots of 911GT3RS's on the track. Rich people rent them and then drive like total a$$es. Unfortunately, their driving skills don't match their wallets. I had cars within 1-2" of my car (at over 100mph) on many occasions and a BMW M3 spun out and slid right across my nose before going into the grass. I was driving pretty defensively, so I could not take advantage of the optimal entry/exit lines for many of the turns. That said, I still managed an 11:36, so I was really happy. If I had the track to myself, I'm sure I could run a time below 10min.

I'm moving to California this summer. Aside from the Ring' I've always wanted to run the car at Laguna Seca. Hoping to make that happen in 2012 :)
