So I was driving home yesterday and another Camaro flies by me. From the back I see that it's a 4th gen Z28 with Quad exhaust tips like my own SLP exhaust. I assume it's an LS1 from what I can see. I should mention at this point that i have, about 250 lbs of music equipment, a 200 lbs passenger and myself (160 lbs). So I catch up and we are both turning left onto a four lane road. So when he and I make the turn we both pounce on it. I'm already 1 car behind bc he didn't let me catch up. So immediately I notice his exhaust becomes visible when he hammered it (Never noticed that while racing) and I'm struggling to catch him. When I reach the top of my RPMs-6200, I leap forward a little closer to him, still 3/4 of a car. Same thing in second gear. So we let off at 110 or so and I'm still 3/4 to 1/2 car behind him. When I pass him, I notice it's an early 4th gen and I was surprised. I thought I should have pulled him even though I had quite a bit of extra weight. Anyways, good race.

With the extra weight you mentioned (over 600 lbs), I am surprised you stayed with him at all...

So many LS1 people think that LT1's are easy kills....

when did we start considering 2.73 gears a mod

1). You have a rediculous weight disadvantage.

2). You basically have no mods worth mentioning other then LM1.

3). You have no idea how many mods the LT1 had.

Honestly, I'm not surprised at all that you lost. Good death.

Well tbh, I'm not sure what all has been done to my car. I bought it from a guy who bought it from another guy who had done some work to it. It had nitrous hooked up when I got it. Dry shot. And I pull hard against other LS1s. I smoked a Z not too long ago. But as for losing. I was a car behind when he floored it. I actually gained ground on him, but he pulled hard.

I have yet to run an ls1 yet, Id like to think against a stock auto it would be a drivers race from a dig.

My car is much lighter then stock, it makes a huge difference. But
