Default EGR and AIR Removal

So, I've been debating whether or not I want to remove my EGR and/or AIR based on inspections here in Houston (Pasadena area). They guy I take it to doesn't mind the tinted tails. He does open the hood, but I'm not sure he checks the EGR/AIR is there or not. I want to upgrade to the LS6 or BBK manifold and LT headers. I would tune the EGR and AIR out, but have any of you guys that have removed EGR and/or AIR had problems with the visual inspections?

I removed mine a few years ago and have never had any problems. I don't think the inspectors know that they are even supposed to check for it. Just remove them and get the codes tuned out and don't worry about it.

I just had my car inspected in SA and I don't think they opened the hood.

Any good instructions for removing the EGR?

I also removed the AIR/EGR when I installed my headers. As long as your car isn't throwing emission codes, you should pass.

I see removing the EGR ans AIR will throw codes. Will that impact performance? It may take me some time to get the codes removed.

Thanks guys. I'm convinced. I'll probably start with the headers.
