Default PRC 5.3/T2 M6, full weight SS. New Best

It looks like my clutch issues have finally been sorted out...after more than a year. I am finally starting to have fun with the car and now the times are starting to drop. After racing for years with street tires and an easy to modulate clutch, getting used to a bias ply tire and an aggressive clutch has not been as simple. I'm not accustomed to launching a car from 4k+ rpms but it sure is a blast when she leaves. Here is my new best.

60'....1.658 New Best
330'...4.77
1/8....7.345 @ 95.8
1k.....9.552
1/4....11.406 @ 122.66

My previous best came last week. 11.47 @ 121 with a 1.69 (previous best).
My only changes from last week was going with 26" tires (I was on 27" last week) and the weather was a little better.

I weighed the car after my last pass and it came in at 3650 with me in it. The only weight reduction was removing the spare tire and jack. The way I see it, the addition of the 12 bolt and heavy BMR torque arm/driveshaft loop, more than offsets what I removed.

*************
Another new best... Updated on post 29......

Very nice Dave. 11.30's are right around the corner. Bring your car down to MIR. I'm pretty sure their track prep is worth ay least a tenth. Congrats.

I wish I could run in that kind of weather. I have a very similar setup to yours and so far i've ran 11.30's on the brakes... Also trapped a little over 123 and the da was 1500. I've been keeping an eye on your ride because our cars are so similar. Keep up the good work

Your car definitely runs very strong. If I could run those times in the heat I would be real happy. What is your raceweight?

I'm not sure on the race weight. I need to hit the scale before my next trip to the track. I'll be going to the track in the next week or two looking for better weather.

What weight reduction have you done? I would like to get into the 11.20s before the season is done so my guess is that I would need to lose 100 lbs somehow. I have a set of skinnies that I haven't been able to get to fit, but that is pretty much as far as I want to go with weight reduction. If I can run those times with the full interior and ac/heat intact, I'll be more than satisfied.

I run skinnies on the front, I have no back seat or ac and I have true duals. But I added a 9" which looks to be roughly 80lbs added. I'm aiming for 11.10s at the moment. Depending on what happens i'll see if I can take it into the high 10s which would be awesome.
I have spray as well but i'm trying to max the car out na before i spray at the track. I drive the car to the track and drive it back home. I just run stock wheels in the rear with dr's.

Bruce, believe it or not, the prep at Crapitol was pretty good. The creek hooks too good for me. I need a little spin.

My next question is, what do I have to do to run 11.2s before the season is done? I can't get the skinnies to fit for whatever reason. I would luv to run those times with the full factory interior intact. I'm willing to do a little shaving to get the skinnies to fit. Will I be able to reach my goal with just that or will I have to do some additional reduction?

I did not gain any et with my skinnies only a little trap speed increase. The only thing that you can do is weight reduction but I don't think you'll gain .2 with that. Maybe try to get the 60ft down as well.

Hey Congrats on the new best ,Dave!! I'm sorry I didn't hit you up sooner, man. Just get a set of 7/32 spacers for the skinnies up front and bolt'em up. Remove the passenger seat and the rear seat. Hell ,if you are going for a new best then go for it !! Especially in these temps we are having now. 11.2's are can be yours.....trust me..... I know for a fact !

I tried the 7/32 spacers but they still don't work. If I can run an 11.2 without removing any part of the interior I'd be happy. I think that removing the front sway bar, adding skinnies, and good air may help me to my goal. If somehow I end up running a 11.3001...the seat is coming out. lol. I think I will need to run 124 mph to get there.

I was able to get another new best before the season is over.

11.28 @ 123.8

The clutch didn't seem to like it too much so I packed it in after that. It was certainly a fitting end to the season. I don't know what my goals will be for the coming season but I don't want to put a roll bar in the car. It would be nice to run these times in the heat though.
