Oil pump pickup tube o-ring safe to reuse?
Only thing I'm missing to put my motor back together is the o-ring for the oil pump pickup tube. Is it safe to reuse the original one? I hate to have another week lost b/c I'm waiting on a $2 part. But I'd also hate to get the thing running only to find out I should have waited a week for a $2 part.

If it was my motor I'd put a new o-ring in. What's the old one look like? These can get pinched and cause the pump to suck air, which means you'll have to replace it again if that happens.

They're so cheap that I couldn't ever imagine reusing one, but I've reused enough o-rings in less critical applications to know that from a practical standpoint, you can easily see any problems/imperfections in an o-ring that could cause problems.
