Default 57 Chevy Convertible 31hr correction by Immaculate Reflections

I recently got a call from a new client to take care of a big group of cars for him, and this one was my favorite. A 3 step correction was selected for this classic to bring the luster back to the paint. The car had been painted several years ago with a very nice paint job but it just didn't have the gloss and depth it should have. It had its share of swirls, but also a lot of DA sanding pigtails and deep RIDS. 31 hours later the paint looked great again with lots of gloss and depth, looking how red is supposed to look. Paint was sealed with Zaino Z2pro. Since I'm posting up from Vegas (waiting for the SEMA show) I'll this short and get onto the pictures.

Upon arrival

Some DA sanding marks/pigtails and deep RIDS

Compounded and polished out and looking good again

Deep pigtails from DA sanding

Pigtails removed and surface looking proper

After many hours of compounding and polishing the gloss has been restored

Now there's some body lines I'm familiar with.. but where's the orange peel?

I got a 57 4 door sedan, my uncle painted it in 1993 under a carport. It looks "good" but.. man it's got orange peel like you wouldn't believe.

Was this car clearcoat or enamel? Mine was done with an enamel apparently. It's been pretty tough, but it's only seen sunlight probably 10 times in the last 5 years.
