Default F'n "friends"

Sold my motor and transmission a while back to a good friend. Well being a good friend, I told him to pay me when he could. He payed me $600 when he picked it up. Long story short, I found out last night.he sold the motor in march I believe. Funny thing is, he only paid me $100 so far on it. Then sold it to a member on tech. The nerve of some people.

Always get your money upfront, especially when dealing with 'friends'... I sold a car to a friend years ago, he had most of the money upfront (7K cash) and was short a grand. He gave me a check a few weeks later for the 1K, it bounced! Then he fell off the face of the earth and to add insult to injury he sold the car 6 months later. I never saw my money and have promised to never again make that sort of deal.

Eh, when it comes to friends and selling things... they say they aint got the money.. I tell em it's ok.. I won't sell it till you got the money. If you want it and we agree on the price.. I'll hold it for ya.

NEVER deal with friends and family. If you do, make sure you get every penny BEFORE you release the goods.

Friends or not, I always get collateral. Or I hold on to it until its paid off. I have a Fender 2x12 amp sitting right next to me that will be here until my buddy pays it off. Nothing personal, just busines.

Meh.... it happens. Shitty, but it happens.

I was told once, never loan anyone money, give a REAL friend money during hard times and never expect it to be repaid and you will never be let down.

Loan a friend money and he will no longer be your friend.

A REAL friend will repay you even if you told him he could have it. REAL friends are family. You know who they are.

They only did that because they knew they could get away with it. They knew they could pretty much punk you and you aren't going to do anything about it. Kind of like taking candy from a baby, shitty situation for you.
