Is my motor fubared please advise Long Story short I was running through the gears went to grab 4th and hit 2nd she instantly jumped to 6k i dont think it went over what should i look for to be messed up the engine sounds fine the rear doesnt (i'm replacing the diff ne ways
) or did the rev limiter kick in to keep me from screwing it up????? ls1 firebird bolt ons

The rev limiter can not stop a mechanical over rev(which is what happens when you put the car in the wrong gear). The most common damage is bent pushrods followed by bent valves. If the engine sounds good then you likely got lucky. How fast were you going when you put it in second?
