Cool Escalade or Denali

Hey guys, I have been bitten by the LSX bug and its time for a new daily driver. I had initially considered getting an SRT-8 but at 15k-18k, mod money was nonexistent.
I wanted to know who here, had a modified Escalade or Denali and what they though about its overall performance with the regular bolt-ons we apply to other vehicles. Personally I am stuck on the '02-'04 Escalade with the AWD and 6.0.
I figure with L92 heads, decent cam, 2800 stall and dyno-tune, I may have something of a hot-rod SUV. I hope no one is saying why hot-rod an suv. Let me know what you guys think.
I guess in my mind, I see truck on stock rims, extra sticky tires, 125 shot of nitrous, coming off the line all 4 wheels struggling for traction...and if it breaks, i can actually run to the junkyard and pick up a 6.0 long block for under a grand and begin fortifying it for boost.

had AWD and RWD, the rear only was much funner. Great for burnouts and love to slide around corners when messing with other cars. Tough to do in an all wheel drive

This.

If it snows a lot in your area, then I'd probably go AWD, but if you have relatively clear weather most of the time, RWD is fun.

Whoa, why a Z71? I guess I have had tons of RWD vehicles, as a matter of fact, I can't tell you the last time I owned a FWD. Garage at present: '98 Vette, '92 300ZX TT, '96 LS400, '68 Le Mans (undergoing a 5.3 swap as we speak) '08 Nissan Pathfinder, and my baby an '05 Ram 3500. The Cadillac is just real clean and used they have tons of bells and whistles. I have a buddy with an '02 Sierra with 4WD, and the launches are insane. So that's part of my reason for the AWD. Plus if I do have snow, then I have a contingency.

Denali's are heavy (around 5k lbs or so) if you're serious about making a hot rod, I think you need FI.

Another one to look at would be the Sierra Denali quadrasteer, those are not bad either. Bolt-on's/Tune would probably put you in the high 14's which is pretty good for what it is. But, out of your two choices, I'd get the Denali. Much better looking truck, not too much into the flashiness of the Escalade. I mean, you can do pretty much the same thing with either one performance wise, it's all in what you think looks better.

I have an 04 Escalade EXT and it weighs 5,995LBS. The power is ok for how much it weighs stock and I think a stall will help immensely to get the fat bitch moving. The LQ9 is a very good motor for boost though. I raced my buddies stock Dodge Ram with 5.7 Hemi and it's pretty much dead even with who ever launches the best gets the win. His truck probably weighs around 5,300 Lbs.

It does ride like, well, a Cadillac. By far the best riding truck I have ever been in. But with all the bells and whistles comes problems and those problems aren't that cheap to fix, mostly electrical. Must be the Cadillac tax.

Overall though I am hooked on these trucks. The only thing I might get other than an escalde in the future is the 2012 Sierra Denali with the duramax when the price drops a little more.

But I am too curious how bolt ons help these trucks. Always wnated to slap a Maggie on at 12 LBS of boost and put a stall in. Probably surprise some Ram SRT10 boys.
