Default New to the super charged world

i just picked up a supercharged z28 (98). i was taking the piping off to polish it up and found oil on my maf and inside the piping. its a vortech g trim? is what i was told. also i asked another guy and he said i had to much pressure in the motor and its blowing by in the charger and is causing this. he said i needed to add a catch can and that should fix the problem. i have a breather on the drivers and passengers side valve covers...any idea's????

There shouldn't be.. and, yes, if oil is getting through the intake it's probably from the vent lines. Put a catch can on there, should clear it up. Clean up the MAF with MAF cleaner/spray before putting it back together.

Do a search in Google or even on here if Google type ls1 catch can routing there are several threads and diagrams that should help with your problem.

If the catch can dosent fix it then you have the same problem I do. Its the oil seals in the blower leaking a little bit into the scroll housing and a rebuild is needed. BTW I have my pcv totally deleted and have for 20k miles with no adverse side effects. This is why I say the seals are bad. I might be wrong, but where else could the oil come from?
