Default Are these heads screwed up?

I picked up an LQ9 from a guy who had already started "cleaning up" the heads. He took too much off in the bottom right corner of the intake runners and now there is a small ridge in the transition into the vertical wall of the intake runner. I will try to attach pictures. Would you guys use them? Don't really want to port them. He only touched the intake runners. Thanks.

Looks like the individual polished the runners...A MAJOR NO-NO !!!
If these heads are to be used I would re-sand them with a coarse (36 or 60)
grit cartridge roll on a die grinder. Exhaust ports and combustion chambers
are OK to polish just NOT the intakes.

I have the opportunity to pick up a set of 243 heads that have just been milled .010. I could pick those up but was worried about the CR being a little high. I know I could bleed some off with the right cam, but I don't want to have to turn a lot of rpms to make power. I also want to be able to run pump gas with absolutely no problems.

A lot of people run 11.5 to 1 compression on 93 octane. As long as you have 91 or 93 and a good tune you should fine with only .010 mill. Talk to a machine shop, use a compression calculator or talk to someone who knows mroe than me lol.

I wouldnt use them.....like stated above your not suppose to polish the intake runners, I would get the 243's their the best bang for the buck head and only being milled .010 youll be fine with compression.

my heads were milled .30 and I had a 11.5 compression ratio and ran 93 pump gas with no issues
