Default upgrading t4 turbo

currently using a tc78 with a 1.15 a/r housing.

my manifold is a t4 flange and not looking to change it,
truck(gmc sonoma 3600lbs) went 10.82 on 10psi looking to comfortably go high 9's with a turbo upgrade and head studs and zr1 gaskets.

the two turbos im looking at are the precision pt78 and the borg warner s380.
i know the precision would get me there and is a pretty potent turbo...

would it be safe to say the S380 would be good for slightly more hp?? bigger turbine wheel ....

for some reason i really wanna try the t4 borg warner unit, i just dont wanna make the wrong move..
(its a 6.0 liter lq4)

I have a S380 for sale and I'll give you your choice of 1.0, 1.1,1.25 a/r housings. The S380 is a great turbo and with the race cover will make big power. Yes I think the S380 will make more power then the PT78.

S380 will get a 3600lb vehicle to 150mph across the stripe.

Didn't you use this turbo on a stock lq9?

from what i understand the s380R would slightly edge out the precision pt78.

with the larger turbine wheels, the 87 or 92mm, how does the s380R compare to the pt88? (t4)

Hydrostream6, how many psi did it take to get you there? and did you leave under boost? and what size downpipe? im at 3 1/2" now...

im looking to get my 3625ish lbs to a minimum of 140mph trap.
was at 128.5 with tc78 at around 10psi, no boost on launch...

im looking into the precision pt78 a little more closely now, because it looks like i could get it to work with my 3 1/2" downpipe with minimal re-fabbing.. where as the s380 would basically require me to re make the downpipe and id wanna step up to 4"...

Hydrostream, i see you had some great results with it..
im wondering, provided i get it to stick, if i can get this setup into the 9's / 140mph trap on the "stock" motor (rod bolts/head studs/ls9 gaskets/ls6 cam)

timeslip shown is with tc78 f1 1.15a/r on 10psi, truck shifted into overdrive at 117 (has 3.73s with 26" tire, will have 3.23s and rev/shiftpoitns raised when i go back.) and made somewheres around 13 psi once the converter locked (from 117-128) yes i was in overdrive on this 10 second pass...

looking to go 9.99 on around 15-17psi... anythoughts on whether the pt78 will get me there? another 12mph..

I'm a good amount heavier than you are and I'm going mid 140s. And the turbo wasn't showing signs of dropping power yet on the dyno either, I just didn't want to push much more boost with stock heads. 140+ shouldn't be a problem at all with your setup assuming the stock lower end holds up and you can get it to hook.

Plus your larger dp will help a bit too. Just make an adapter to go down to the 3" of the turbine housing.

Why not just turn up the boost on the TC? Those turbos really shine around 14-18 PSI.

yea my downpipe now is 3" v band with a 3" to 3 1/2" cone to full 3 1/2" the rest of the way back.. so im sure with little modification i could get it to work.

im sure the tc78 would get me a good bit more but were putting it on a 5.3 in my buddy's 98 ss with head studs, rod bolts and cam, and that will see around 15psi..

i know it'll be the upper limits of the bottom end, but im hoping around 600-650rwhp will get me there, i was 3625 with me and gas, and itll be a little lighter in the spring, maybe 3500lbs total.
