Default 243 vs Z06 243 vs 799

damn typo in the title. the one thing you can't edit. ooops.

Check my understanding:
243 headds and 799 heads are exactly the same casting.
All of these heads have identical valves except for the C5 Z06 models
The springs are all different depending on application.

Is this right?

243's off 02+ LS6's have lightweight hollow stem valves (sodium filled on the exh.)

I fixed title for you.

243s and 799 are cast in different places, although they are the exact same design, same ports. In the end they will make the same power.

The difference is in the parts used(valves/springs). 799s have heavy valves, and so do most 243s. There are a few LS6 version 243s on 02-04 LS6s that have lightweight valves.

Just to be clear on the valve scenario:
All 799 and 243 heads have the same intake valves regardless if they were put on trucks, vettes, or camaros.
243 LS6 heads from 2002-2004 had different sodium filled exhaust valves that were lighter weight.

The Z06 heads have both hollow stem intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves. Both are lighter weight than their counterparts installed in the other 243s/799s without them.

Just so you know...it is my understanding that if you get a full CNC port done then it doesn't matter what you get 243, 799 or 317. The CNC makes all the ports the same and the only difference will be in the combustion chamber where the 317 is larger. I know you didn't ask about all that but so many guys talk about getting port work that I just wanted to clarify right up front.
