looking to start a new motor build soon. just tring to find out how much and what part #. what the average price for a new ls6 or lq9/lq4 block go for and what are the gm part numbers? same question with the 243 799 heads.. thanks for help

you can pick up new LQ9 blocks from summit racing for 700 bucks i believe but you can pick up a used short block for that price... used 243 heads usually go about 600 used

As for the heads, talk to See5 on here. I bought a set of 799s from him for a little over 400, and you could hardly tell they were used at all.

I'm sure Scoggin Dickey (sdparts.com) has them new.

I got my 6.0L block for $300 and 243's for $350, both used.
