Default Motor Build Questions? LS beginner

Ok, I am new to the LS based motors but making the move from the LT's I did not want to do it for a long time but just seems to be the way to go. I obviously want to do the best bang for the buck and make good power and spray 300ish.
I am doing this from scratch I dont have anything LS yet.

What I was thinking was a 408 and I would like to do a carb set up on top.

What basics will I need

Crank to go with and stroke 4"?
Rods and length 6.125"?
Pistions?
Heads best for buck
rockers

Headers? Kooks?

A basic 408 setup will require:

Block--Iron 6.0 bored to 4.030"
Crank--4.0" Stroke
Rods--6.125"
Pistons--Made for: 4.030" Bore, 4.0" Stroke, 6.125 Rod, Dome/Dish?(What CR are you looking for?)
Heads--I would recommend our PRC 237cc Heads, but there are many excellent options out there
Rockers--Id recommend the factory rocker with the comp cams trunion upgrade
Headers--Also many excellent options depending on vehicle

Feel free to pm or call us if you have any questions.
