Default New dyno numbers on LS3 427 CETA

About a year ago, I bought a LS3 427 for my CETA. I got the motor through John when he used to worked for SDPC. I did a build thread on this but Im doing a rethread for the latest updates. I had tuning issues but John kept in touch and helped me out with the retuning and redynoing. So John now works for Lucky Speed and Performance located in Longview, TX. They came to GA to pick up my car for retuning, dyno pulls along with some upgrades like running a different CAI, port my FAST intake and bigger headers. They already done the tuning and base dyno numbers. These numbers are without the upgrades. So John will do back to back dyno session for every upgrade added to the car. I will submit updates whenever I get them.

I was really surprised at the numbers indeed! We are not trying to break the rules of the forum here.

Just trying to put up the actual gains that were shown. Honestly this car is amazing. It almost leaps off the dyno.

I can address any of the questions you have for him minus how it drives, but please help me stay within the forum guidelines so this thread can stay alive!

Thanks

We made sure to post both SAE and STD so everyone can be satisfied!
I can even get the weather center report out if need be.

Time to don the flame suit.

Nice gains. Good job getting air through the engine.

Well the airflow portion is the problem. With the Volant CAI, unported FAST, and 1 3/4 headers, those are the 3 points that need to be addressed. After 5k the MAP started dropping. It was 99-100 but dropped to 95 at the end.

Def room for improvement.

BTW those graphs are not before the LS3/427 swap and after. Anyone care to guess what happened?

Sizeable gains for sure! Did I miss the new header size? 2"? Stepped to 2"?

In the interest in keeping this swap as smooth as possible with not alot of hiccups they will be 1 7/8. It could prob gain from a stepped header, but modifying the car just to get them to fit is not worth the possible gain on that end.

I know the kooks headers fit very well and may very well need no modification of any portion of the car, but we are going the safest way to avoid any huge problems.

Going to the bigger Y pipe with the larger headers will certainly gain. Also going to a better CAI setup will help out the airflow issue as well.

The original dyno graph was 508/480. But that was at another place with the 10 bolt in place. That was in his original thread.

Both of these trends of graphs were taken within 3 hours of each other.

so these new results were through 1 3/4 headers? Definitely going to be a sizable gain going to 1 7/8!

to answer djfury...yes sir with SLP 1 3/4 headers. I carried these over during the swap about a year ago. They are a good header but it's a restriction so I cant wait for the kooks.

to address the original dyno graph. I had no way of knowing whether or not those numbers were corrected or not. The newer graphs here shows different pulls. Now I can show accurate information this time. Plus, I wanted to see what the car really put down.

Any guesses as to the gains?

The MAF was pegging out the HZ on the truck maf even! It was moving as much air as the Air Intake bore would allow!

Nice numbers. What kind of converter do you have? Compression ratio?
