Default Cam only car flying first time out at WORLD CUP

my internet car has paid off.i bought this 2000 camaro ls1 cam only car off ls1tech two years ago.the car was nowhere close to the way it sit today.it was a stick car that sounded good that i feel for it and bought it.this is my first ls car and didnt know nothing at all about them.the car was suppose to make close to 430hp i was told lmao.now that i bought it and start to check into things 430 was far far away from being realistically hp number for my setup.so after one pass at da race track with the clutch blowing out i started my project of rebuilding this car.i worked on it little at a time while still racing and building bikes.two years later its done.thanks to ls1tech.com info and members helping me out i have a good running cam only ls1 camaro.this weekend at MIR WORLD CUP FINIALS i made my first pass on the car with the complete make over.things wasnt looking good to make this race.everything start to fall apart when time was getting close to this event.i actually picked my car up 1:00 am saturday morning from the dyno tunner.so i wasnt to sure if i wanted to go out racing for the first time at this big event.well it all paid off.

60-1.410
330-4.26
1/8-6.70
mph 100.84
1000-8.816
1/4-10.616
mph 124.80

that was off the trailer very first pass on the car.the car is running good and better than i ever thought.i was honestly looking for 11.00s maybe 10.90s.
just think some members told me that this lil g5x2 cam isnt big enough to go fast.lol

i want to thank a few people for helping me with this build.
my lil brother procsls6 for getting me interested in these cars.my partener n crime for life dd mahoney.
mattSS for sticking with me throught this build.
tektrans for the great parts he sold me and becoming a friend to me on a personal level.
shawn strauss for hooking me up with a killer rear suspension setup plus more.lol
carter01 for taking time to return pms and emails answering question that i had.
my boy and mechanic mike king.

And the man that got me going at the last minute Jeff lowery at Performance Specialties Inc.jeff made time for my car and did a hell of a job tunning it.thank you sir.

thanks for forums like this that help people like me to build bad *** projects of such.thank you ls1tech.com

Car is really flying for the weight and gear. More weight out and maybe 4.30 gears and that thing should see soem lower 10's for sure. Nice combo and car. Of course more gear will make the converter a little tighter ,but, you definitely have a very good baseline to fine tune from. Good luck

They port the manifold. Before the days of Fast manifolds it was not uncommon to have the LS6 ported for some nice and cheap gains. Most people would rather spend big $$ like 1500+ now for a ported fast and t/b to pick up if your lucky 20 whp. You can spend about $350 -400 having LS6 intake and stock t/b ported and usually pick up 10-15 whp for less than 1/3 the cost. Back in the early days of racing turbo buick 3.8 the only choices were to modify the factory parts and people were able to go surprisingly fast doing this. Sometimes the KISS principle works really well unlees you just got $$ burning a hole in your pocket. The OP is definitely a smart man with his $$
