Repositioned MAF to a better location. Will this affect my tune??
So I moved the MAF tonight to what I think is a better position given what I have researched.
The MAF originally was located with a subtle 90* bend about 3" in front of it and a straight section that was 10" long behind it.
Tonight I moved it so there was a 14" straight section of pipe before it and about a 3" straight section behind it before it goes 90* into the throttle body. (look at pics) It is also positioned upside down if that makes any differance(hood wouldn't close wth it upright lol)
MAF before moved:
NEW MAF location:
What I want to know is if this will have any effect on my tune at WOT? It was tuned by Frost and fine tuned in Spokane WA. It dyno'ed 425 rwhp and 417 rwtrq. The car really drives nice, just have noticed these little annoyances this summer.
Reason I moved it was my idle was always a little inconsistant(I know a cammed motor doesnt purr but the idle seemed to settle then sporadically change) and my light throttle driving was very very touchy and seemed like it couldnt hold a steady cruise.
I have yet to drive it since I changed the confiuration but I did start it and it seems to find its programmed idle much better and I can really here the lobe of my cam now, it is much more consistant.
The motor:
2004 LS1(LS6 intake, and block) 32,574 miles,
TSP 228R 114LSA,
Katech rod bolts,
PAC 1518 springs,
TSP 7.400 hardened push rods,
241 cast heads,
Custom 4" intake and 4" SLP MAF with resistor removed,
ported/polished TB
1 3/4'' Longtubes
2.5" dual exhaust w/ flo-monster X- pipe.
Magnaflow 14616 mufflers
Tuned by FROST
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Car drives much better at light throttle/cruise.
AFR's at WOT are no different then before so in a nutshell it still hauls major *** but now with a lobey idle and better street manners.
