Default Decent street tire after big hoosier disappointment

I bought some hoosier DRs and I must say, they dropped the ball. They never hooked on the street, or at the track (the whole 2 times I went this year) and were all around poor quality. Not to mention, they didn't last long at all. 3 months later and they're showing cords/weather cracking. Now I've decided to go back to a street tire and purchase 2 seperate rims for bias ply mickeys. Any suggestions on a decent street tire for a decent price?

Ive really enjoyed running the Hoosiers over the several sets of M/Ts Ive ran in the past. The Hoosiers definitely wear quicker because of the slightly softer compound, but I really enjoy how they work on the track and the street with a little prep.

I am not a BIG M6 / Drag Radial guy but half the issue is the suspension setup and launch aids almost become a requirement. That is not even getting into things like track prep and launch technique.

M6 on a bias ply is fine and you should stick with that.

As for the street, just buy some ET Street Bias Ply's and leave the ET drags on the seperate rims. IF hooking on the street is not a big issue just pick any tire you feel comfortible with.

I had the same problem with BFG drags.....they sucked in dry...and of course they were complete garbage in the wet. I could easily fry them from a 20-30 roll.

I then tried 315/35/17 Goodyear GS-D3's....HOLY ****. They hook 100 times better than the BFG drags on the street. Absolutely no comparison. And wet traction is AMAZING.

how much air are you running? I dont see how anyone could hate them, I love mine and I wont ever buy another kind for drag racing. Street, I could see them sucking, they really arent meant for street use/driving around. If the track isnt prepped, mine dont shine to their best but still work ok. If the tracks prepped I have to back off my setup to keep it from dragging the bumper

I run 17-18lbs or more

My final run on them was at 20 psi, and I still blew them off....I checked the DOTs on them when I pulled them off and found out they were made in 03...and bought brand new...I think I'm going to shy away from hoosier for a while and go mickeys until I see some better quality control from Hoosier.

I pulled the tires on the street with a hoosier radial, stick car, 325/50/15..I run a Bias Ply now but I loved um, my 60s werent too consistant though, only reason I switched.
