spark plug gap Q&A
i was changing my SP today and to make the gap smaller i was lightly tapping it to make the gap smaller from the ngk's .60 to .55 .. well some old guy saw me and said i was damaging the spark plugs doing that ... TRUE OR FALSE?

Damaging it because you were tapping it or because you were changing the gap?
Nothing wrong with changing the gap by .005" (I'm assuming you meant to say .060 to .055). I don't tap them myself though, I usually just use the gapping tool that's built into my feeler gage.
