Default Fly cutting pistons on lq4/lq9 or ls3 for g6x3?

Ok so I have a bone stock lq9 short block that I plan on putting a g6x3 cam in it with ls3 top end. A friend tells me Im going to have to fly cut the pistons for valve clearance. He had that issue on his 2011 Ls3 camaro. Now by him yelling me this I emailed LG and they email back this
As long as the pistons, head gaskets, and heads are stock yes it will fit without cutting. If you mill the heads or go to an aftermarket piston they will need to be cut…or need to request a piston with valve reliefs.

I trust every bit they say since they are the experts. But I also research on here of some members having that issue and done not. any info would help thanks!

You'll not get the right answer for sure , Every one will answer different answer , You should check by yourself the clearance to PTV , It's hard to guess , Don't waste time for asking these questions and check , Maybe the clearance will be fine and maybe no

If the motor is in pieces you might as well flycut anyway. It's too close for anyone's call on a forum.
