Anyone know what's included in the RIV safety. If you're in an area of canada that doesn't require etest are they going to nail you on the safety if you have emissions equipment removed?

It has to pass an inspection, the only authorised inspection stations are CTC stores.
So you will need to make it comply before you take it in for the inspection.
Magnaflow Bullitt cats are only a couple hundred bucks.

That may have worked for you but may not for him. IMO if they dont check you would likely be ok to get it home without running into the smog police. For what it costs for a set of cats buy them and have them shipped to the person and have them welded in. If its a deal breaker im sure the buyer wouldnt have an issue as long as its not coming out of his wallet.

They dont even put the car on the hoist for the RIV inspection. I dont think buddy even started mine. It took longer to walk out to my parking spot then to do the inspection.

RIV inspection is very basic, they look for DRL's, fasteners for child seats, metric speedometer labels (which mine didn't have and they didn't give a shit), a valid VIN, and a french label for your air bags.
When I took mine in to get inspected they glanced at it, complimented my car and handed the form back to me. It's really just a formality (and a shitty one at that).
