Default Modified B&M Shifter

Lastnight I pulled my B&M from my car and cut almost 2" of the top. Everyone seems to think they come too long from the factory, so I decided to modify it a bit. I have always liked the shifter, so figured $15 on a die to thread it wasnt a big deal. Here is a pic threading it (303 SSis a bitch to thread) after that I cut it, then polished/clearcoated the stick. So far I am kind of liking it.

Thanks it works very well. I did end up having to change the springs inside so it was as hard to shift into the gears.

I have never had any noise issues with the shifter, I think its one of the best aftermarket shifters I have ever used.

You must have never used an MGW.

I cut about 2 inches I think from my Hurst because it was much too long. I love how low it sits now!

I think that the "smooth" shift has a lot to do with your transmission and not so much the stick. My B&M has been on 2 different transmissions now and the built stage 2 shifts way better than the stock trans ever did.
