Looks great man, I am in the early stages of my 68 ls3 swap. Do you have a write up of the combo you went with? Headers, mounts, harness etc? Id love to get more details on your set up

Awesome man! I just sold my 240sx L33 swap and I'm planning on tackling at 1 gen camaro LSX swap for my next project. I'm with ONyX711, any info that you can provide would be a great help for my planning. How long have you owned the Camaro? I've been searching through craigslist for the past few days to get an idea of how much a shell will run me.

I used the gmpp crate engine and harness. gmpp trans controller with 4l60e. s&p mounts and headers. turbo 400 crossmember with a cadillac cts-v pan. spectra fuel tank with the same problems everybody has with these tanks. Get a different tank unless they fixed the issues. I used the corvette fuel regulator/filter. Corvette accessories with a relocating kit for the ac compressor. Got that on ebay. Puts the ac on the top.

Did you opt for the long tube headers? If you did use long tube headers could you post up a pic from the side to see ground to header clearance?

Looks like it belongs there, nice job.

the s&p headers are mid length. just a little longer than a shorty. awesome quality jet hot coated. i would recommend them. still look like new with no discoloration from heat.

Did you use the stock clip? If so do you know what engine stands were in the car 327 or 350? I'm putting a ls-2 in my 68 stock clip with s&p mounts and stainless work headers but they arent fitting very well. They hit the steering box and the idler arm.

yes the stock subframe. the engine stands were for a smallblock. the 327 and 350 would be the same. bigblocks had different stands. i tried every exhaust manifold i could find but would not clear the steering box. thats why i used the s&p headers. there are very small differences in the actual motor mounts you can get. only about 3/8 to 1/2 inch.

Did you make this or buy this? I am at this stage and need to start working on getting an intake fitted.

Thanks in advance!

I hope he answers as the thread is about 3 years old. As to the cold air intake I would use a 6" radius aluminum 4" elbow in place of the rubber elbow he has. Or find a rubber elbow with a larger radius. Air does not like to make turns and the bigger the radius the better for airflow. Looks like he has the room for it.

Thanks for the response guys. I am using an AutoRad radiator with dual fans.

Here is a pic of the engine compartment as it stands right now.
