Do truck transmissions fit in our 98-02 F-Body's??
I lost my 3rd/4th clutch pack. I am looking to throw a trans in my 98 Z28 to get it back on the road for now. I keep seeing 01-up 4l60e trans for sale. Do these fit and work in our f- body's? Thanks in advance

Can be resolved with a tranny mount that relocates the torque arm right?
Otherwise AFAIK that's your only difference. Maybe the converter, but you'll change that anyway.
stock 60s go CHEAP.. but I'd at least have a shift kit put in it before you drop it in... and get a tranny cooler.

yessir it works i have done it myself. What blk/slvr02ss is correct, change that out and maybe the gear shift linkage piece coming out the transmission , sorry idk what the proper term is but if it an 01 you might not have to do that either

i have a 98 engine out of a Trans am without a trans, So i bought a rebuilt trans out of a truck according to the rebuilder, He included the a tailshaft housing and other parts, It supposedly has the high performance rebuild ie: more clutch packs, corvette servo, higher stall converter etc etc... My question is does the ECM need to be reprogrammed to the trans or would it run ok? the plugs seems to be the right one and but i needs to get the other sensors still.
thanks!
