Question Precision 6266s or 6765s?

I know I know, I change my mind every week, lol. Sold the turbo headers I had for a single setup, back to twins. Anyways, mid-December I will be ordering turbos. Was wanting to get some opinions from people with knowledge on these turbos. I can get the billet journal bearing 6266s for $809 shipped each, or the billet journal bearing 6765s for $1010 shipped each. 6266s will support 730whp each (lots of import guys have made 800ish whp with one), and the 6765s will support 930whp each.

I would post compressor maps of each, but Precision doesn't release compressor maps for their new CEA turbos.

Whichever one I chose, it will be T4 .81 AR with the S compressor cover (4" inlet, 2 1/2" outlet).

Motor setup is a forged LS3, LSA heads, ported Vic jr, elbow, 231/247 617/624 cam, moroso oil pan, ati damper, etc etc... Running a converted TR6060... 9" with 3.50 gears, and 28" tall tires.

Right now I'm leaning towards 6266s just because they are cheaper, and will support my goals. What do you all suggest?

It all depends on what ur trying to do with the car.

Judging from the vids u post ur building a highway bandit.

Not much difference in either of those turbo's other than one moves more air then the other. I highly doubt ull ever max the compressor's out.

The 67's may look better on paper hp wise but the limiting factor will be the turbine/ar housing. If the turbine wont flow enough to make the power u want then having 67mm compressors is useless.

That being said, we already know how much air the compressor can produce.
Need to figure out if the turbines will flow enough to prevent back pressure issues.

Precisions figures are not wheel figures. They are flywheel.

Although it seems that a lot of US Dyno wheel figures tend to be closer to genuine flywheel figures.

I would look into 6262's or which ever turbos will offer the quickest spool. Are you running an o-ring setup? If not you will be limited by lifting the heads and not by any of the above listed turbos. I have read that the new 65mm turbine wheels are one of the quickest spooling wheels per the amount they can flow.

6266's will make more power than you can use on the street....far more.

And their new units dont require water cooling either which is handy. A friend recently got one of their CEA BB 6266's and it does look great.

I plan on it being mostly a street driven car, but will take it to the track occasionally, maybe the mile as well. Between researching and other forums I have read, here are the 2 estimates i found people had listed for each turbo.

6266: 68lbs
6765: 77-80lbs.

Engine is not o-ringed, but not worried about lifting heads; tune will be spot on, and my engine builder knows what he's doing.

6266 all the way for street.

To help you out with the compressor map (or lack thereof), I can lend a bit of personal experience by saying that the 62mm Precision turbos are comparable to the old school Turbonetics T66's, flow wise. Max efficiency is a couple percentage points higher, around 78%.

This, since your running a stick go with the 62's they will still make plenty power up top.

1000whp on e85.

Thanks for all the responses, I think I'll go with the 6266s.

Bringing this back from the dead. I'm on the fence myself somewhere between 6262's and 6766's journal bearing billet wheels and I really want all V-bands which limits the 6262's to .82 A/R. 3200ish lb steel '62 nova LS9 heads, gaskets, ARP metric studs, on a stock bottom end '03 LQ4,Comp cam 220int/218exh @ .050, 581/562 lift, 116 separation + 4 4L80e w/transbrake, 258mm circle d 3500-4000 stall. When I upgrade the bottom end I will probably go with 6bolt block/heads 400ish.
