Well, I was driving around and an SI came up on me. Went from a stand still smoked the hell out of him. Bus lengths, but I need y'alls help real quick

My mods: kooks full racing header and exhaust (x pipe, kooks 3" tips). KN typhoon cai. JRE tune. On downshifts my exhaust was shooting flames. Is this normal at all? I'm not throwing any rich codes, already checked multiple times with my tuner. Just kind of worries me that flames are shooting out of my NA camaro kind of like it was a turbo gallardo.

Help please.

I seen a GTO with full bolt-ons and no tune shoot flames on it shifts.

I also seen a 3V GT do it when its x-pipe was not bolted up and it had one side open a little.

Just because you CEL is not coming on for running rich dont mean it is not running rich. My GTO ran rich on the dyno but it never had the CEL on.

Mine does that sometimes from the cutout, when i let off the gas or miss shift, N/A. Im sure it does that more on the nitrous.

mine shoot flames out. turboed and when it was na it use to shoot out the cutout and tail pipes. i ran the car for 3 years on na with 550hp

Well, this is what I found:

My car is tuned to run on full auto I assume, not with tap shifters, so when I DO shift, it has a SLIGHT delay that I can actually hear and feel. When the car does shift and catches up you can hear it and it's here where it shoots out.

Also, this only happens when using TAP SHIFTERS. Not when on full auto and letting the car shift.

Kind of a "don't worry that can happen" sort of thing. I'll be keeping an eye on it and I should be getting it dyno'd fairly soon (HATE 3RD WORLD AND LACK OF DYNOS ).

My Bolt-On WS6 does it every once in a while too, it's still not tuned. Don't worry, no biggie.

Freind told me my car was shooting little flames out the exhaust when I ran his TBSS on the freeway.I wouldn't worry about it.Makes a lil pop sound too when it happens,personally I think its kinda cool!lol
