Default how to pick a converter

is there some kind of formula that i can use to select the right converter

A lot of factors involved. Cam specs, toque curve, HP, gears, weight, tires.....And then intended usage comes into play. If you fill out or Ask Chris form, link in sig, I will help you select a match for your setup.

Before I got my yank I emailed them and he wanted to know engine and modes rear gear and tire size. Can't wait to try my 3200 stall.

There is no reason to worry with all that. You call up the converter manufacturer and tell them all your info and they spec it out for you.

As Chris stated ther is a lot that goes into proper converter selection. Call or cantact the manufacturer and see what they suggest. I will be more than happy to make a sugestion. call greg at fti for a converter let him spec you a converter I have one of his for th400 ls1. I drive all the time on the street and it drives great. Greg is the man for converter
