In for more responses. But FWIW, my engine builder (LME) said I would be ok for up to 1000rwhp but it would be slightly risky, and that he wouldnt recommend I run the car constantly down the track at that power level.

My engine is an iron block 370 forged rods and pistons, but stock crank.

850+ to the wheels with a TH400, loose converter and a 9". No problems here.

You pin the main caps. You pin the balancer as well.
Stock crank good for 1000rwhp and more.

I've been running the stock crank since 2005 with anywhere between 600fwhp and 1000fwhp depending on the year. No issues yet.

I had problems around 1000 but I had stock main studs also. One of my caps walked and bent the crank. I now run the Eagle and ARP studs.

before there was any aftermarket support on these engines people like Harlan were running 347 setups with stock cranks down the track at over 1200 rwhp consistently without issues....

I just tore my motor down today to find what I believe to be a bent stock crank with what was around 900 crank hp. 2,3,and4 main bearings are trashed. 1 and 5 don't look that bad. Stock crank with ARP studs

Interesting you and Los both have had issues with the stock crank. Even more interesting you both are running a T4 PT88. It's probably pure coincidence but I wonder if excessive exhaust back pressure is causing issues.

I have a question for guys having issues with the stock crank. What damper are you running?

I was using a stock crank on my 364 f1 maxed at 22psi, it run strong but things started to go wrong in the engine still dont know what really caused the damage but the next build will have a k1 crank in it
I use a jegs brand balancer (pinned three times)

No one has ever had a "crank" fail. Tolerances, detonation, oil pressure and many other issues can hurt a crank like the few posts above. But a stock uncut/unmolested crank will not fail. I've seen as high as 1500rwhp on stock cranks.

Agree, it is usually something else that causes a crank problem. I have only seen 1 crank ever break, cracked right down the middle, but I think it had a crack in it and then came apart later. Aside from this, I have never seen a crank come out of a motor.
