Question Cleaning under Hood?

What do you guys think is the best way to clean under the hood? I went to a track and the pit area was dusty as heck. I need to clean it real good for a car show. What is the best way. Please help!

If it's already clean just spray the motor when it's slightly warm with Simple Green, wait a minute then spray it off. If you have anything polished your going to want to dry everything really quick before the heat from the motor dries the water and stains the metal.

For just dust and a little oil I would spray the SG just on the oily areas then use a good car shampoo and sponge to suds up the rest.. then rinse it all off. A trick I use is to buy two gallons of distilled water and when done pour it over the engine bay to rinse everything off.. after that I would blow it mostly dry with a 200mph leaf blower.

This combo yielded few if any water spots.. when done detail with a towel and you favorite dressings..

note: the distilled water helps because it has few if any impurities in it and evaporates away..
