Default Was suppose to go for a tune Mon. but.....

Put a new cam in the car, have an appt. for a tune, flat bed coming in the morn. Now my pass. side fan will not come on. It usually comes on at 180 and the second fan comes on about 190. The relay is good and the connections are good. So my question is can the car still be tuned with the main fan not coming on? I believe the fan motor is probably bad.

Thanks for any help. John

I swapped the fan motors its not the motor. I always thought the primary fan was on the pass. side. Is the primary fan on the drivers side?

Thanks

I don't see why it couldn't be tuned. Usually all the tunes I've had done the tuner had a mobile fan blowing on the car anyways. Not sure about the primary/secondary fan configuration.

Tuner should also be able to adjust when the fans come on too.

The car can be tuned.
The tuner can also set fans through the computer to come on at different temps.

Thanks for the replies.

I was kinda flipping out last night. The car did get tuned. The drivers side is the primary fan. The pcm is not sending a signal to the second fan or the wire is bad. I had been looking forward to getting the car tuned for about 8 wks now. Eps cam 226 234 113 put down 377 hp 358 tq. Got all this work done so now it can sit for the winter

Someone with HPT can manually turn on either fan independently without starting the engine.

If Im not mistaken, both fans should come on all the time, there is just two speeds.

I was having an issue with my drivers side fan not coming on at all, so what I did was checked for resistance between the PCM, and the relays. I found 1 wire was broken between the PCM, and relays, so it wasnt triggering the fan.

Heres a wiring diagram that may help you:

You are mistaken!
The fans can be set to come on at individual temps, 1st at say eg: 160deg & 2nd at say 165deg and to stop again at say 155deg... just examples

Looking at the wiring diagram for my 2001 it appears that both are on, just 2 settings (low and high). The motors are wired to run in series or in parallel depending on high vs low.

Will both fans turn on if you turn on your AC?

Tuner checked the relay it is good. He said it is either the pcm or a bad wire. One more thing I need to put on my list of things to do.
