Default roughly how much is a BBk intake with the throttle body

800 for the intake with the tb. any way around this? Anyway to go cheaper like getting the intake by itself and a different tb?

note: I was gonna get the LS6 but with the mods going into the car I see better numbers when the BBK pops up in the list. I want a FAST 102 but I don't make that kind of money. Any advise on the TB would be appriciated.

If i get a FAST could I use the stock tb until i can save for a bigger tb?

800 should get you a used fast setup. IMO ls6 untilled you can bank for a fast. The bbk just hasn't shown me that much over a ls6 for me to spend more. Port your TB that is real easy to do, just go with the ls6 IMO.

Listen a stock ported TB is just as good IMO. If your going to spend any money fast is the way to go. And with winter pretty much here you will see some very good dealsin the classifieds

DUUUDE!!....for the love of GOD!!...DONT' get a a BBK intake..they royaly suck..i wasted nearly 500 bucks on the one i bought and neither myself nor the shop i took it to that specializes in GM vehicles could get that ****** to seal...and yes that means i installed it..it did'nt seal..then they took it off and tried to make it seal and their mechanics could'nt do it either..some ppl have luck with them but alot of ppl have been burn't by them...it's cheaper and better in my opinion to get and stay with an LS6 intake ..it's the best intake other than a FAST..there is really no limit to the LS6 intake unless you are going big cubes like 408 or larger...i wish i woul've listened to all the ppl who told me not to get the BBK intake.

I never had an issue with my bbk and it's been off and reinstalled twice. Do you mean professional products? I had that intake and it wouldn't seal.

Again man not worth it. I have not heard about any sealing issues but I wouldn't doubt a few have issues. Its not worth the money unless you find a steal on craigslist

ehh, all i know is man, is that that bastard would'nt seal to save my life..it was brand new and I reused new gaskets when installing it and so did the shop i took it too for the 2nd go around (i would name the shop but i don't want to cause any heartache for the adminstrators ).we thought it was loosing boost due to maybe a whole in the rubber hosing on the procharger system, pressure tested and found it at the intake..LS6 intake went on it..booya..problem solved. BBk makes great products as i also have a BBK 80mm TB, but intakes, i'm good on those

Never had a sealing issue with my BBK, got a deal on it from New Era Perf $399 18mo ago. And to be honest this is the first I have ever heard of ANY sealing issues with the BBK? The correct assembly of the bottom plate on the BBK is important and it's not that hard to get it right. Aluminum is still the preimenent material used for performance intakes check for plastic with NHRA, NASCAR, IRL etc. NOT! So don't belive the heat sink hype.
