Default Can I use a 6 rib belt on a 8 rib F1 Procharger?

I tried installing the 8 rib super damper but it doesnt fit because it hits the rack (Solstice LS2 swap). I leaved the OEM 6 rib damper and installed the F1 anyway, what would hapen if the belt is a 6 rib but the F1 pulley is an 8 rib? Can it work this way? I am looking to get 10psi.

My guess is you're going to get a good amount of belt slip trying to use a 6-rib belt to spin an F1, and that's not even taking into account if the pulley's will line up.

my bet is you would have massive belt slip and blow it apart very quickly

My question is what accesory drive are you using? F body-vett-GTO

I know with the Vett drive and the cartech flip drive you can get away with a 6 rib on an f1

The belt will physically go on and work fine. Apart from offering less grip to prevent slip

The only issue I can see is that pulley alignment could be off a little plus the 6 rib belt would be able to jump around on an 8 rib pulley

Unless the pulleys are badly aligned or belt tensioned incorrectly it should not jump about.

Ive used thinner belts before, they work just fine ( again, obviously they cannot grip as well though etc )

With the Flip Drive you might get by with the six rib with your F-1A without having belt slippage problems. Bob

I run a 6rib belt on my f1, there was some belt slip but I did have it pulleyed to max the blower out at 6500rpm, with a peak boost of 22psi on a buit 364 ls2

I tried to start the car but the belt got ripped right away, seems that it wont align with the OEM 6 rib damper, I am going to need some spacers for the supercharger.
