The Ls based engines seem to be louder than the older GM engines. Not sure if its the increased air flow or what exactly. I would probably look at the Magnaflow mufflers as well.

another vote for magnaflow. Have run them on all my conversions and i've been happy. had flowmaster 50's on a car we built for a customer and aside from idle, i was not happy with the sound

Rply I think you would be very happy with the 14" body. The 20" body is rather large when installed. I use the Magnaflow on my 1998 5.9 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 14" body and really like it. Not really too loud. No drone inside the truck. I also picked up the Magnaflow with the 14" body for my conversion with the 3" inlet and outlet. Rich
