Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - Crossfire -> TBI swap

Sooo like some of you know iv been talking about putting a TBI on the vette simply because it flows better overall then the crossfire. I know the TBI isn't the most effective platform but i choose it over the TPI because i HATE the TPI runners.
Atlest with a small cam i plan to be shifting at around 6000 with the TBI before running out of air. Found a intake for $20 and the throttlebody for $30.. polished up the runners a bit and me and Alex bolted it on.

I used the adjustable fuel pressure regulator from the crossfire and the injectors since i didnt know if the TBI came from a 305 or a 350

It runs about the same right now but its smoother. It only has a few degrees of timing when we took it out and the computer is still learning. Im happy though, heres some pics.

I don't know about this one. I have fooled with many a TPI and if I was going to take a crossfire off, a TBI would definitely not be going on the car.

That's the problem. There's no room for improvement. At least with TPI I can cam it and other things.

I tell you what. Go to TPIS or Comp. Get TPIS zzx cam or get a compcam 306 and see if you can make them run under TBI.

You are limited on airflow so it would limit you on cam choice as it is. A cam too large will throw the map sensor into fits on a TBI setup.

Look at the cams that crane used to carry for TBI. They were under the compucam category. It later was turned into the powermax category. All those cams were were small in duration and had a wide lsa to make them have a smooth idle even though there are ls cams their size with a lope.

I think Chevy High Performance did a build back in 04 and the cam was very small in nature I think it was 210/214 but it was a 305 TBI motor with vortec heads.

Thats why you don't put a huge ass cam like the cc306 into a stock headed car with a stock tune and intake... I don't even have a roller block so im limited to flat tappet..

But regardless you are talking about throwing a cam into car and running a stock tune obviously you are limited to small cams to keep the map happy..But its still not going to run optimal.

Im planning to get megasquirt so I will beable to do as i please with the tune
