Default Pair of slotted rotors under 55 bucks...Anyone used these??

http://www.jcwhitney.com/zinc-plated...id=d244y1998j1

Wondering if anyone has used these? I have used this places parts before and never had any problems on other vehicles. Seems pretty cheap and usually if it seems too good.....

$52 for a set scares me. They're probably some cheap Chinese rotors that will have a short life and may warp easily. I say go with a better known name brand rotor.

Rotors don't really warp, but cheap metal and or less mass or thickness can lead to poor temp control, cracking or uneven pad deposition on the rotor face.

cheap rotors = wiggle in the steering wheel after a few thousand miles... just my experience.

Go buy 24-30lbs of high quality cast iron and tell me how much that costs...then smelt that and tell me how much that effort was worth. haha

I never trust a set of rotors bellow $100 for a pair, ever.

What you or I can buy the material for is a different story then some factory over in china can buy it for when they order a million tons at a time. And thts where there all made these days.

Last I heard there a bit overpriced, not a race car, dont really need anything better then stock to be honest. Car stops just fine with whatevers on it now, just seems to have a caliper starting to stick so might as well do the brakes when I fix it...Seen the price I posted in the first post and just seemed really good

I wouldn't buy some cheap brakes and rotors, but thats just me and basically everyone else on here. My car is my baby and i always get it top of the-line-stuff. Yes it cost more and yes you have to save your money longer but you will have less headaches and problems in the long run.

I'm not cheaping out just wondering about these rotors. The pads I'll get some good ones, just not going to pay hundereds of dollars for them. What makes the Hawks so good that everyone swears by them?

I know they are made by another good company that makes braking products. They are the same as the other expensive brand this is just the metal. Hawk rotors are not harsh on the pads but are slotted to help cool the brakes but also are dead silent. Only time they ever squeak is after i get done washing the car. The thickness of the rotor and metal is better quality then other cheapo brands like you mentioned.
