California Non-Op anyone?
Anyone in california had a non operational registration before. My lt1 has a blown head gasket and its probably going to take a good while before i get it fixed. My plates expire soon and im wondering how a Non-Operational vehicle works.
Heres the weird part; I live in imperial valley where you only smog your car when it gets registered under your name. Weve never had to smog a car more than once here. When i bought the car, it passed smog, but now it definately wont pass it. My question is, will i have to get it smogged again after i make it operational again?
Anyone from the valley thats ever done this?? Thanks

My 67 has been nonop for more than a decade. I don't need to smog it (due to age) but I do have to show proof of insurance when I do get it up and running. I currently live in AZ but I'm from LA and it still has Cali tags.

do you have to get your car smogged every year where you live? I think youre right though. I had a buddy who could hook it up and let you pass smog, but hes not working there anymore, so i dont want to risk it either. Im probably just going to pay the normal amount and not worry about it.
