Default Milled Heads How Much Compression

A friend has chance to buy a set of heads that have been milled 35 thousandths. How much compression will he get with these heads.

I was told by TEA that stock LS1 5.7L heads milled .035" will get you a chamber volume of approx 63.3cc

That would be a CR of 10.7 to 1

You don't need anymore than that with 92-93 octane pump gas.

I believe the amount of compression you can safely run on a given octane is also a function of which cam you are using. The cam can change the static cylinder pressure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

Your right. Long duration cams will require slightly less cyl chamber CC as the static CR is reduced due to a change in cam overlap.

Those numbers are using stock graphite GM gaskets.

I'm running 11.1:1 on 91 octane (don't have 93 in AZ <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> ) without any problems. Also have higher WOT spark advance without knock than I did with the stock heads.
