Default Next Mod...

Wantes to get some input/suggestions for my next mod. Its a 99 camaro ss M6 with LTs, ORY, 228R cam, lid, UD pulley, and supporting mods for the cam. Where should i go next. I was thinking intake and TB. Really want a nice nitrous kit and heads though then start working on the clutch/tranny/rear end etc.

What catback are you running?

LS6 intake with a ported tb would be fine.

Will 243 heads and an LS6 intake do me good? Or is a FAST 90/90 worth the extra 500 bucks? What about 243s vs. Ported 243's? What kind of difference am i looking at? The cars a DD and i only go to the track a couple times a year. I just want a really quick powerful street car...

change the intake first off, that ls1 intake is killing your car, if you have the cash i would get a fast set up , but if your on a budget a ls6 and ported stock tb will do you just fine, but for sure get a intake on that car, then think heads, as for heads i would for sure get some ported 243s,

I went with fast 102mm intake manifold and 92mm throttle body and Fast fuel rails and injector. I been shopping about for some heads, and decided to go with PRC LS6 2.5 heads they seem like a good deal bang for buck. There are plenty of better heads out there, if moneys not a issue. Fast 102mm intake manifold= instant amazing throttle response and HP gain.

True Duals.

Which shifter are you running? A new shifter and shift light would be awesome!

Get a good 3in exhst system so that cam can breath properly (cutout for under 30 bucks), then reinforce ur rear end. Maybe some 373 gears... my .02 cents

If you cant afford to get a 9" or a 12 bolt then go to summitracing and buy a girdle cover for the rear end, and maybe some gears since you will have the cover off anyways. This will help the 10 bolt last a little longer. Only if you are planning on launching it hard though, if you are doing mostly highway pulls the stock 10 bolt should be fine. It's really kind of luck of the draw with the rears, I had one last 140K miles on a H/C full exhaust car beating the **** out of it.

Since you are M6 car i would suggest something a little more radical than 373's. Have you done anything to the suspension? Other than that, the LS6 is a great upgrade and you can get one for around 300$ if you look hard enough. No need to get a new tb, find someone to port the stocker if you are going LS6. If you get a fast you will need a new TB. Just a suggestion, if you dont have any, get some SFC's (Welded in ones) and suspension ASAP the car will hook a lot better once you do.
