Default What could it be if my car keeps smoking after cam install.

The reason I ask this is because I'm replacing the valve seals and mentioned it in another thread that I recently posted that I recently installed a camshaft not to mention a high volume melling oil pump and imediately upon startup I noticed the light blue smoke not whole lot but enough to annoy the **** out of me and off and on it smokes alot on startup. I figured it was the valve seals since I replaced the valve springs. If it ain't the seals why wasn't it smoking with the stock cam. I always drove it and it never smoked stock.

It sounds like oil is leaking past the valve guides, especially if there's a puff immediately after start up. Well atleast the seals are being lubricated.

Ya most likely it is the valve seals. They are very cheap, and it should fix your issue.

If you didn't change the valve seals with the spring swap then I would guess that is your problem. Good luck.

Thanks fellas for the responses I'm glad to see other people believe it is the seals as well.

Exact same thing happened to me, It was the valve seals. I just pulled the plugs and it was obvious which plug was burning oil so i just replaced the seals on that cylinder and all is good!
