STEALTH THRUSTER 2800 with 3.23's getting ready to pull the trigger on a stall finally and was looking at the Yank Stealth Thruster 2800. My Cam is a 228/232 and I have 3.23 gears.
I daily drive the car and spend alot of time in stop and go traffic, never go to the track this is mainly for street use. Definitely do not want a stall that's too loose. Anybody have this stall with a cam ?
I'm getting tired of fighting the brakes.

After the first of the year Yank has a Sale on there converters or just watch for a Group sale on them which i got my Yank SS3600 for $675 shipped which was well worth the 7 tenths it knocked of my car !!!

Sure you want a 2800 stall? Reason i ask because you may want more stal later.
I went with a 3800 on a dd car with bolt-ons and honestly feel i want more. Mind
you ive only been to the track once so its not really for track performance.
On the street that 40 mph punch is just awsome. Oh and i do drive this everyday
61 miles to work about 30 at work street/highway and 61 miles back home hwy with
L.A. traffic. Also 323's.

Stealth Thruster 3000 @ 575-57.5(10%)=517.50.
My engine is stock and as I travel a lot in the Z,I won't do any mods that would jeapordize the reliability of the stock engine.
I had a TCI 2800 with the OEM 3.23s' and the only change noticed,compared to the OEM 1800 convertor,was it would no longer try to creep against the brakes. The 'looseness' got used to in a day. No change in performance at the strip or perceived on the street.
Changed my rear gears to 4.56 and that dropped my 1/4 times by .5. The 4.56s made the 'loose' TCI 2800 feel as tight as the OEM 1800 convertor.
After 5 years with the TCI 2800,I swapped in a Yank SS3600. Don't take that wrong as I liked the TCI 2800,never had a problem with it and I would hesitate to put it back in,but it was time for a change and give Yank a try. Because of the 4.56s',even the Yank SS3600 feels as tight as the OEM 1800 around town in city traffic. It does 'flash' to around 3600 rpm and still has to be tested at the strip.
How a convertor feels in the 'looseness' scale is totally dependent on rear gear ratio. I'll be putting the OEM rearend with the OEM 3.23s' in soon,so it'll be interesting,for me,to see how 'loose' it gets. Also building a rear for 2.73s' or 3.08s'.
