Best kind of cars are sleepers, I was scared to run b-bodys (with a stockish lt1) now that Ive seen what can be done to em.
I feel like the gtr at first was like, i hope this guy is joking, and tried 5th and was like damn it, tried 4th and lost and was like ok **** this guy, put it third or second and booted it and lost...hence his reaction at the end when he rolled the window down. lol

the g8 driver knew the GTR driver. from what i gathered on the other forums the gtr passenger is the owner of the gtr and the driver kept forgetting to downshift on the first couple attempts but on the last run the g8 just out muscles him

It really sucks to know that the g8 is faster while getting better gas mileage, carries more people or groceries or a child seat, looks just as good, oh and is $60k cheaper. not to mention better ride quality on a bumpy road

That g8 is a fast car, but it might not even be faster from a stop then the gtr driven properly. Not taking anything away from the G8 and the work the owner put into it, but the reason the video is made is because of the level the gtr is at. a minor tune on the gtr might have made this a totally different race.

In all honestly too, I agree with liqid venom. A roll race is 1/4 of the story. Would the G8 match any of the GTR's times around a race track? No. Would it match it anywhere in the backroads? No. There's no point to bring in price comparison where the real world performance of the GTR stock, is something even the most modified G8 couldn't achieve. Not to mention a GTR has useable rear seats that fit me, I'm 6'0 212 lbs and fit back there no problem, can easily fit a baby seat, and have more than ample trunk space for grocery shopping. So, in all honesty your main points are invalid. And this is first hand experience with the GTR.

Better ride quality? Have you driven a GTR or is that completely 2nd hand based?

if you get to see how the gtr downshifts multiple gears in a flash that alone will make you a fan of that fat vehicle. Unless you are an auto vehicle owner.

Idk about gasemilage, gtr is a 4 seater, and the g8 certainly does not ride as nice. I assume you have not been in one.

i've been in both, any G8GT 18's or 19's rides 1000x better on an average street at 35-45mph. hwy? depends on the surface, G8 is compliant, smooth, refined. The GTR? handles very well but is extremely rigid on anything but smooth as glass. Which is its intended mission, handle like it's on rails. but two cars from different classes, difficult to say which is better, they are both great.
