Default Machine work cost?

What is the average cost to get a ls1 block bored to 3.905 specs and what all is needed to re use my factory crank for a rebuild for a 347 build

I'm thinking thats the stock bore. You can just have the shop hone the cyl. bores. The crank shouldn't need any work if it's not damaged. You could have them cut it 5-10 under or just polish the brg surfaces. The cost for each job shouldn't cost much 100 -150 each?

usually around $80-120 to hone and $100 to turn the crank

i got a price for 600 just to hone lol, i thought that was crazy high

Even honing with a torque plate should be less than half that cost. Now LSx cylinder liners are notoriously hard on honing stones so you might see an increase in cost for this but no where near $600.

They told me about $1000 for the crank, bores, decking, cleaning, balancing, and short block assembly.

my local shop quoted me $700, for hone, magnaflux, crank, and shortblock assembly.

I would ask if you misunderstood what all was involved with that $600 price tag and if it was just a hone I would let them know that they were stupid and you were gonna take your engine to a machine shop that wasn't
