5.3 heads and ls6 cam
thinking about doing this as it will be really cheap don't have time to search right now would it be advisable or should i just get a 22x/22x cam only
dd car will be raced maybe once 2 times a year at track.
3200 stall bolt on car right now not trying to go fast just have a fun street car and keep the mpgs decent.
did a few searches and looks like a bad idea at this point machine work would be too expensive to put the 2.00 valves in there and get it flowing right. unless anybody else has a counter point.

i am in the same boat as you
considering 243/799 heads, ls6 intake and cam
but i did do the machine work on lower end and am going to do top end also as i have a shop to do it in
but with mine i am going to do a cam at same time as heads
to me it just seems like the right thing to do
just my 2 cents worth

If I may suggest....leave the LS6 cams to the guys doing E-Bay turbo 5.3 mills
Those heads would bump the compression and flow surprisingly well even with
the smaller valves but your best bet for a good 35-40 horse bump would be to
find a used Thunder Racing 220 or 224 cam....then retune.
