Default Nitto's NT05 or 555'S

What is everybody running or prefer on you set up.After a lot of research I've decided to go with the NT05. I know I will get less mileage out of them, but this is for a weekened warrior set up.Your input is welcome.

I run the nt05's on my g8. I love them, they hold up great for track days and work good on the street.

ya a weekend warrior only means you drive it on the weekends, i asked what style of driving you do. otherwise go buy some tires you will never fully utilize and pay more for. good luck!!

I just bought nito NT05 s for all four corners I haven't mounted them yet since its winter .. They seem pretty nice. .. I had Nitto 555s before and after a couple of months they weren't hooking that great .. But for the first months they hooked pretty good on the street s I hope the Nt05s hook better ..

I think the NT05 is a combination of the 555 and NT01.Best of both worlds!

If it's for a weekend warrior setup then the NT05's are great.

I like the 555's though, more versatile for wet/dry and much longer thread life.

since we dont know what style of driving your weekend warrior is used for ...........

I am on my 2nd set of NT-05's. First set had about 20k miles on them, included several 12 hour one way highway miles and lots and lots of corner carving. They wear out FAST and a spot on alignment is necessary or they will wear much faster. I have driven in Florida rain storms and through sitting puddles (dont recommend that at faster than 40mph without a diaper on). My car puts out 450+rwhp and these tires are not for launching at the track, that is what the NT-05R or 555R is for. With all that being said, unless you push your car hard, the NT-05 is not needed, the NT555 is the better buy. my next set of tires will most likely be a set of 555's since i am slowly calming down my driving style.

Also, the NT-05 does not like cold weather. they are like ice skates when its below 40. and if you are in an area where it snows like i am in VA, the ice on the roads is no help either.

for anyone's reference, after 2 years with the NT-05's, for ideal highway psi, 35psi cold front/rear is what i found to be the best, for summer corner carving 30psi cold front and 28 psi cold rear gave me great traction.
